Cape May - It has been an honor working alongside Gladys Mendo as a tagger. She was the sweetest, kindest person on and off the beach. She never missed a day in her booth for 41 years. Gladys, who I was proud to call my 'beach mom,' was an inspiration to everyone she dealt with. Never an unkind word or a bad attitude. Always willing to give a break to a new tagger like me, with kindness and more importantly, patience.
