Cape May - I think it is very unfair for Cape May City Council to vote for a new library when its citizens have not had the chance to voice their opinion by referendum. There are a lot of people who would like the library to remain and felt the last Town Hall meeting was filled with outsiders who stifled Cape May’s residents. Similarly, the prospect for a new public safety building should also be decided by referendum. The mayor, after all, promised no large commitments without a referendum.
