Burleigh - The Everlon building was sold to the county in the 80's at a bargain price of $1 million. The building had a leaking roof when I worked there, and I suspected asbestos. After the textile plant closed, faulty freezers were installed and led to massive damage to inventory. Colonial Foods sued and were awarded $2.5 million. Now, the building will be demolished and the site refurbished for $2.3 million. Any engineering survey would have warned of these dangers. So, $5.8 million down the drain. It's time to "drain the swamp" and consider a two-party freeholder board.
