Avalon - Around 7 p.m. Oct. 2, four Avalon firetrucks arrived on my street in front of my neighbor's home two doors over. There appeared to be about 40 or 50 firemen, hoses out, smoke billowing from the home, and very bright lights. I truly believed the home was burning down, and I was worried for everyone involved. About an hour later, I found out they were only training on the house since it will be torn down in the next couple weeks, and there was no fire. Wouldn't it have been thoughtful of the fire department to notify the neighbors in advance? My concern and worry were in vain.
