Wildwood - The City of Wildwood has no less than four ambulances. I think it is time for privatization. There would be savings of purchase, maintenance, staffing, and $40,000 for each firefighter who has his EMT certification. This saving would be around $300,000 per year and would automatically reduce the salaries of firefighters by the $40,000 each. A company would come in and bid the service and charge the insurance companies just like the city does, only it would not be taxpayer funded. The tax dollars would be saved for bigger and better things, like a new school, larger Public Works Department, or more police.
