Stone Harbor - As stated in the Aug. 22 Herald on page A11, there is a need for Mobi-mats on the beach. Someone said they "had collected 550 signatures from residents and visitors supporting more mats and had sent the petition to the Governor's Office, the N.J. Attorney General and the N.J. ADA Office for action." Other towns like Stone Harbor should follow their lead because we are not adhering to Americans with Disabilities Act. People with carts, strollers and anyone just having a hard time walking through soft sand can make good use of the mats. Why pull the dunes and the built-up, soft sand back to the ocean year after year?
